Gardener’s Meeting Notes 6-17-2020
What to do with funds in Frosty memorial account : $202.33?
After discussion the money will be spent on a raised bed at the library that can be used for children’s programs.
Maintenance needs through the summer
Plantings:
7-11 bed – needs weeding
Discussion:
Options;
1. Give Applegreens,Inc (correspondence with Kieth Callahan pasted at the end of these minutes) notice that the Fairlee Gardeners would no longer maintain the bed.
2. Maintain the bed and ask for a yearly monetary contribution
Consensus was that no matter what we should agitate to get them to fix the outside water
Raised bed between Chapman’s and 7-11 – continued weeding ad hoc when the urge strikes
Sunflowers : I would like to formalize ‘ownership”,that is someone responsible with 1 backup person who will check every now and then and water or whatever

Hello,
I was given your address by our Zoning Administrator as someone to contact regarding the roadside planter at the Fairlee location where your new convenience store is opening up.
Two years ago, with the cooperation of Cumberland Farms, the Fairlee Gardeners installed about 175 plants of various types in what had been a bare expanse of chips and some scrubby creeping juniper.
Now, after a second summer the perennial plants are filling in nicely. We would be happy to speak to you about continuing to augment and maintain this planter, or, if you intend to re-do it we would like a chance to get our plants out of there as they are valuable.
Please see our website for some photos of the project.
I did notice that the sign we had there, identifying it as one of our projects had been moved down to the memorial garden by the train station.
Could we know what the plans are for the planter and if the plan is to leave it, can we talk about augmentation and maintenance?
thank you,
Miranda Clemson
